Essentials of Kayak Touring - ACA L2 Skills

Become a more efficient and confident paddler by learning new safety and recovery skills and refining how you perform essential strokes and maneuvers.

In this full-day class, we’ll cover ways to paddle more efficiently in sheltered bays, inlets, and rivers. We’ll work on techniques to maneuver a kayak more effectively, including combining strokes to link maneuvers and using edging during turns.

We’ll also introduce methods to prevent a capsize, including the low brace, and learn some new self-rescue, assisted rescue, and towing skills.
